Back in 2016, I was preparing for my IGCSE exams and honestly, I was never the best student in school. I had a really hard time focusing in class and keeping up with lessons, especially with subjects like Business, Accounting, and Maths. No matter how much time I spent in school, I just couldn’t fully understand the way things were being taught. With only about 6 months left before my exams, I knew I needed a different approach, and that’s when I started taking private tuition with Dr Vijay.

Looking back, I can confidently say it was one of the best decisions I made during my studies. What really stood out about Dr Vijay was his patience and ability to explain things in a way that actually made sense. He never made me feel slow or embarrassed for not understanding something. Instead, he would break topics down step by step until I fully understood them. For someone like me who struggled with concentration and traditional classroom learning, that made a huge difference.

His teaching style was very practical and easy to follow. In Business Studies, he helped me understand concepts instead of just memorising textbook definitions. In Accounting, which I found extremely difficult at first, he taught me how to approach questions logically and made balancing accounts feel much less intimidating. Maths was probably my weakest subject, but after a few months of lessons with him, I started gaining confidence and solving questions on my own without panicking.

What I appreciated most was how focused and organised his lessons were. Every class felt productive, and he always made sure we covered the important topics that were likely to come out in the exams. He also gave useful tips on answering techniques, time management, and how to structure answers properly to score better marks. It wasn’t just about learning the syllabus, he genuinely cared about helping me improve and do well.

The biggest change for me was my confidence. Before tuition, I honestly didn’t think I could do well in these subjects, especially starting only 6 months before exams. But Dr Vijay made the subjects easier to understand and actually motivated me to study. Over time, I found myself improving more and more, and when my IGCSE results came out, I managed to ace the subjects I once struggled with.

I’ll always be grateful for the support and guidance he gave me during such an important time. If anyone is looking for a tutor who is knowledgeable, patient, understanding, and truly committed to helping students succeed, I would highly recommend Dr Vijay. He played a huge role in helping me turn things around academically, and I genuinely don’t think I would have achieved the same results without his help.
